Sabiana increases its growth potential thanks to integration in the AFG Group

Corbetta, 27 June 2014 - As of 1 July 2014 Sabiana S.p.A. will become a part of AFG, Arbonia-Forster-Holding AG, and will therefore be able to benefit from a wider product range on offer, as well as from the AFG distribution network for residential construction. Furthermore, through AFG Sabiana S.p.A. will have the opportunity to be active on markets worldwide. Following the agreement, the customers of Sabiana and AFG will be able to count on the complete product range of the AFG Building Technique division in all sectors: heating of industrial, retail and residential buildings; industrial and retail ventilation; environmentally compatible air conditioning technologies; improvement of indoor air quality. The choice made by the two families who own the company was dictated by the wish to ensure Sabiana has a future beyond personal fate, by transferring the company to managerial leadership. AFG is an international group, technological leader in the production of materials for construction. With its three divisions (Building Enclosures, Building Technique and Building Safety), it is able to cover all construction needs, both for the exterior and the interior of buildings. The company has a worldwide presence and owns more than 40 distribution companies, with representatives and partners active in more than 70 countries. The 11 main production facilities are in Switzerland, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, United States and China. On the whole, the company employs about 6,300 people. Thanks to integration of the Sabiana product range, the AFG Building Technique division will be able to supply – under the brands Kermi, Arbonia, Prolux, PZP and Sabiana – a comprehensive programme, from individual components to complete system solutions in the sectors of heating, conditioning and ventilation technology, as well as in the bathroom fixture sector. Sabiana will be integrated as an independent business unit in the Building Technique division, within which it will be able to continue evolving. The current management – consisting of the two founding families – as well as production will remain in Italy. Ulrich Bornkessel, Head of International Markets & Sales at AFG, who boasts over 20 years of experience in the conditioning and ventilation sector, will take charge of the unit. 300 million for energy efficiency in schools

To increase the energy efficiency of school and university buildings, the #ProtectedEnvironment decree, approved last Friday by the Council of Ministers, establishes the granting of soft loans for a total amount of over 300 million Euro. The provision, as already established by the Spending Review, is excluded from the Stability Pact of Municipalities that will undertake operations for upgrading and improving safety of school buildings. Sabiana puts forth its offer of the best solutions for optimal air conditioning of school buildings: Pulsar, metal ceiling radiant panel that allows the rooms to be heated with the utmost comfort yet with extremely low thermal inertia, for quickly bringing the premises to the set temperature. Pulsar is a solution with a low implementation cost, and may be paired with traditional high temperature thermal power plants as well as with condensation boilers and heat pumps. Pellegrini-Binaghi: 50 years of successes. Together

A professional life side by side at Sabiana. 50 years of challenges, every single one of them won. Luigi Binaghi, president and Giorgio Pellegrini, managing director, celebrated their long partnership at Villa Negri, in Cassinetta di Lugagnano, together with employees and associates. A lovely evening under the banner of reminiscences and future projects. Aperitif in the garden and dinner under the portico. Chats, memories, pictures of a company, Sabiana, which since its inception has been defined by its ability to work as a team. Respectful of every individual team member. The trips abroad with all employees, the matches, the Christmas parties. Pictures of a team spirit, the seeds of which were sown by the founders, and strongly fostered and consolidated by the second generation: Binaghi and Pellegrini, indeed. An opportunity for actual partying, where the pride for having contributed to the growth of a prestigious company combined with the joy of hanging out together. And the toast given by the two guests of honour: 'Long life to Sabiana' perfectly summed up the spirit of the evening. Electrical heat pumps: subsidised rates are on their way.

The rate experimentation stage targeting residential clients using heat pumps as the only heating system will start on July 1st. Application of the new D1 rate is aimed £at removing obstacles to energy efficiency arising from the existing progressive structure of the fees for the supply of electricity, when devices powered by electricity and energy efficient such as heat pumps are installed.” As a matter of fact, the system currently in force entails progressive charges, i.e. a price for the kilowatts used that rises with the rise in consumption. Joining the price experimentation is on a voluntary basis and requires sending a request to the electricity provider.
