Upcoming review of UNI/TS 11300-1 and 2 technical specifications
UNI has announced that the updated texts on the energy performance of buildings (UNI/TS 11300) have been drawn up and are soon to be published.
The UNI/TS 11300 technical specification, whose objective is to set a common calculation method for the energy requirements of buildings, consists of four parts. The texts to be released soon refer to two of them (UNI/TS 11300-1 and UNI/TS 11300-2) and are going to replace the corresponding texts of the 2008 version.
UNI/TS 11300 represents the main regulatory framework for determining the energy performance of buildings.
UNI/TS 11300 provides for different application methods according to whether the buildings are newly constructed or existing and takes into account both standard and specific climatic and operation conditions.
The texts to be released soon take into account the comments received during public surveys that ended last September.

Funding for school buildings: now is the time to switch to Pulsar by Sabiana
For 2014 and 2015, 122 million Euro a year should be excluded from the Stability Pact of Municipalities that will undertake operations for upgrading and improving safety of school buildings.
The provision is included in the Draft LD on the Spending review approved by the Council of Ministers on Friday, April 18. A great opportunity, to finally have safe and welcoming schools. First and foremost, heating systems, which are often obsolete, energy-guzzling and unsafe in all respects.
The solution put forth by Sabiana in this connection is Pulsar, a metal ceiling radiant panel with extremely low inertia that perfectly integrates into 60x60 cm false ceilings (but can also be installed exposed) and that solves all issues to do with safety (ceiling installation), hygiene (no dirt build up on surfaces, easily disinfected), maintenance (easy access and detection of any leaks). A solution with low implementation costs that allows the rooms to be heated with the utmost comfort yet with extremely low thermal inertia, for quickly bringing the premises to the set temperature. Pulsar may be paired with traditional high temperature thermal power plants, as well as with condensation boilers and heat pumps.

Incentives for upgrading hotels?
Upgrading hotel facilities and constructing new hospitality facilities should be subsidised with an incentive policy to operate like the ecobonus. The announcement was made by Minister Dario Franceschini during a recent audition in the Industry Commissions of the Lower and Upper Chamber.
If the bonuses announced were to become real, this would be a good opportunity for Sabiana, which is able to offer innovative, high energy efficiency conditioning equipment, that assure extremely high standards in indoor air quality thanks to the Crystall filter.
These features would allow hotel owners to upgrade their facilities to the top of their range, while taking advantage from the government’s bonuses.

800 million Euro for the energy efficiency of buildings
The aim is to implement European Directive 2012/27/EU. The goal is to reduce primary energy consumption by 20% within 2020. Significant resources have been made available: 400 million Euro for renovation of state buildings and 400 million Euro (from now until 2020) to finance a National energy efficiency fund.
In this connection, high energy saving Sabiana products are at the forefront, such as Atlas ECM air heaters with electronic motor, compliant with the new European regulation (EU) No. 327/2011, in force as of January 2013, that sets especially low electrical consumption in relation to the air flow performance provided.
